Beautiful ocean sunsets, a sandy beach and old growth Douglas fir trees make Rathtrevor one of the hotspots on Vancouver Island and one of BC’s favorite family destinations. The low tide stretches out for alomost a km making a prime place walk, bird watch or build sand castles in the still wettish sand. There are approx. 5 km of trails in the park besides the beach.
The herring spawn in March draws many brandts, gulls and bird of prey making this area a must see. The beach gets quite busy during summer months and there is a campground in case you feel like staying a little longer. Reservations are required June through September.
