Neck Point

(Nanaimo)

Neck Point is just north of Piper’s Lagoon and is one of the favorite spots in the area. Beautiful rocky bluffs border the ocean and the trail will show you many of the crags along the way. 36 acres of waterfront land give you one of the most scenic trails on the east coast of Vancouver Island. It is a great place for photographers and you will have a chance at seeing Orca Whales, seals and sea lions, sea otters, great blue herons, and many other types of sea birds. It is also great for kayakers and it is a scuba diving hotspot.

The park was named for its gravel bar connecting to the “head” of igneous rock, the farthest east you can go in the park.
